Flare X5 sits in G.Skill's DDR5 range as a heatspreader-only design without the taller fins or lighting of the company's Trident series — a plainer kit built for cases where clearance around the top of the board matters more than looks. Every kit in this speed grade runs at the same headline figure — G.Skill sells Flare X5 DDR5 in a slower grade too — so what separates listings here is purely latency and capacity.
All of it is rated 6000 MT/s, and CL28 ranges from a tight bin down to a noticeably looser one at the same clock — the tighter-timed kits are a different bin of the same chips, not a different speed grade. Capacity here tops out at 32GB, sold as 2×16GB kits rather than single-stick configurations.
Like any DDR5 kit it needs XMP or EXPO enabled to run at rated speed rather than the slower JEDEC fallback, and being unbuffered, non-ECC UDIMM, it's built for standard desktop boards.
