Overview

Crucial builds this SODIMM line for laptop and small-form-factor upgrades rather than desktop towers — plain grey heatspreaders, no branding to speak of, aimed at people replacing or adding to whatever a laptop shipped with. It sits alongside Crucial's better-known desktop kits but uses a completely different slot and connector.

Within the family, 2×16GB is worth reading carefully: a single 32GB stick fills one slot and leaves a second open for a later upgrade, while a matched pair splits that same 32GB across two slots for dual-channel operation instead. The printed 5600 MT/s CL46 rating only applies once a laptop's firmware actually recognises the module at that setting — some machines cap lower regardless of what the stick itself supports.

This is DDR5 SODIMM, sized for laptop and mini-PC slots rather than a desktop board's DIMM slots. A machine built around an older platform may not support this generation of memory at all, so check what your laptop's documentation lists before ordering a replacement.
